Finally, I can post some personal work! It's been too long, and this piece was a welcome break from thinking about and drawing excessive T&A.
This is a commission I was given by a group of people who wanted it to be a wedding present for the couple who are pictured. They are in fact a diver and a mountaineer, so my task was to imagine a meeting between them near a snowy fjord, with retro elements to their gear. It was especially fun looking up the reference for this, and especially tricky getting the figures to look like their real-life counterparts. I've been told that one of the comments made by the happy couple was "how did you get it to look so much like us?", which was lovely to hear and paid back the effort nicely.
The concept grew in the making, with elements such as the aurora, the submarine, the zeppelin and the lantern until it all fell together as the image you see above.
This image might as well have been a match made in heaven, considering that it's a commission and not just a illustration for personal pleasure, I enjoyed every element of the drawing and colouring!
Awesome lighting on this one! I particularly like the contrast between the coolness of the blues from the aurora and the warm glow from the lantern. It certainly does look like it would have been fun to draw, retro gear wins (and congrats to the happy couple)!
this is mindblowingly amazing. every aspect of this drawing comes together in the most beautiful way possible and the lighting is like the frosting on the cake... wow.

Although this does not apply to everyone, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority perceive things from a different point of view from reading this.
