D: I don't know actually, it was a request from a friend, and she wanted rand clothed but the girls naked! It suits the series anyway, if the men are ever naked the story never draws any attention to it or describes it in any detail, but the women are walking around unclothed every other chapter for some thinly veiled reason XD XD
Ah man, that series is ridiculous for introducing every woman by the size of their bust/hips and their beauty rating on a scale of "handsome" to breath-taking XD It was actually extremely hard to figure out what they *really* look like, so I had to kind of extrapolate their personalities into appearances. I figured Aviendha would be lean but muscled, the other two are actually explicitly described as thin.
I doubt the women in Randland shaves their pubic hair. Otherwise, I love this. I love the girls' faces, their calmness and love. And Rand trying to be all, "I'm totally not thinking about sex, nope, not at all".
XD Someone else mentioned this. I originally gave them public hair, but the person who requested the drawing said she was uncomfortable with it for some reason! I might upload the proper version later.
Lightning is awesome! Elayne's face is very beautiful and so are her hair. Aviendha looks a little not like I imagined her but Min is great! Also I like the fact that their chests are very real - not too big, too puffy or all jumpy. Just normal. ...the only detail that makes me uncomofortable is their lack of pubic hair...
Haha! Strange you should say that. I drew this as a request for a close friend, and initially added pubic hair and proper anatomy, but she was uncomfortable with that and asked me to remove them! I might put the original version back up here, as I personally prefer it. Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment!
So in that time they were shaving? I'm very confused here (also it may be my crappy English). And it's not like attractive but they all are grown-up girls and it's only normal to have pubic hair, so unless they're shaving it's... I don't know. It makes me uncomfortable xD
We need to stop that rumor. Yes, after book 7 or 8 things slow down a bit, but it's definitely not enough to stop you from reading this awesome series. When you're reading straight through and not waiting years between books, you hardly even notice it. There are 2-3 books that are slower than the rest, but all agree that by book 11 things are back to their usual pace of excitement. So, at a minimum that's 1-7, and 11-14 that are awesome. Are you going to let some people's opinion of those 4 keep you from enjoying the other 11?
XD They do lose it rather spectacularly (and in some ways they never had it to begin with). You could probably get the most out of the series by reading books 1-6, then reading the wikipedia entries for the remaining ones that Robert Jordan wrote, then reading the last ones that Brandon Sanderson wrote (he's a much better writer on a technical level I think). Plenty of naked ladies though
Yeh much as the idea of something so epic appeals, I think I will give it a miss. It does seem that most of these fantasy sagas don't manage to hold up until the end. I've heard that the most recent couple of books of Song of Ice and Fire aren't very good either.
Yeah, only the very simplest of them are consistent from beginning to end. For some satisfyingly epic, but also manageable and tightly written fantasy, I've really been enjoying Brandon Sanderson lately.
