Here's an illustrative I've done for my mum's birthday in a few days I figured it'd be nice to give her an original work.
It's my nameless guy once more, from the wordless comic I'm writing. I think I might end up making this the basis of one of the pages.
I'll be interested to see if the idea comes across okay ^_^ What do people think is going on?
oh WOW I really like this *O* it makes me think he is sleeping (obviously) he is just dreaming about the trees and forest and stuff, like slipping into his dreams.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way you did the trees! i love the textures down thuur *__*
Bugger that's really similar to a comic I thought of a few years ago on the way back from the pub only better done in just one image! Like the simple but clever composition.
Reminds me of a drawing I did when I was back in school (about a hundred years ago). I was a member of our towns athletics club, and once a year we used to pick up paper that people had collected over the year to sell it to a recycling factory to make some money for our club. Some older guys came with their traktors and we kids were sitting on the trailers, dangling our feet over the open edge. I was deeply fascinated by the ground slipping past very close under my feet: the trailers where low (for stacking stuff from the fields onto them), and my feet were about a handspan from the ground. The traktors went slow, so we could jump down, pick up a bundle of paper, throw it onto the boards, and then jump on again. This inspired me to draw a levitating platform (in the mountains, in my image), with myself standing and my brother sitting and watching the landscape.
So, your image takes me back to this mental image I still have (the drawing has been lost), and what I imagine is riding a train, falling not quite asleep but going deep into myself with the rhythm of the tracks. The train becomes immaterial in my state of meditation, and the landscape outside enters my mind, so that in my half-dream I am outside and floating along.
Hope we get to see the comic. I'm looking forward to it.
Kinda makes me think of the phrase "the grass is greener on the other side". :3; He's on the train, where there's all this man-made things, and it's dreary, and probably a little cold. And maybe he's dreaming of where there is nothing man made, and things seem a bit clearer~?
Haha, i dunno. x3;
i really like him/this idea~ x3; Can't wait to see moore!

Maybe he's taking a bit of peace back with him into the dark rain of normal life?
Am I close?
