18 (who?)
and on the seventh day he... by spoonbard and on the seventh day he... by spoonbard
And he created a room in 7 days!
Except on the seventh day he rested to watch pretty boys fighting.
Then he said! Ye! Let there be virtual light sources and much batch rendering!
And it was good.

All maya, and actually no light sources. All the lighting was drawn directly onto the textures. I'm FINALLY done with this =_= It's taken me 7days (not completely solid) work, but I'm pretty pleased with it :) It's going to be a background for my final animation... See if anyone can guess what the room is a homage to? I'll give a free something-or-other to anyone who does :D

It looks like the nametaker's room, but I think you were trying an omage to the etherial environments in .Hack. This also reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Does it look this way from all angles? This is a great render.

Yeah, it's designed to look like an illustration from any angle :) You can see it from several different angles in the animation itself.
I haven't played .Hack (this is actually a very obscure Silent Hill 2 reference), is it any good? :)

I really like the way you did this. It looks like you painted it as jst a photoshop, but as I could see in the short film (AMAZING!!!) it can be seen at different camera angles. You used it really well, too. The scene with the record keeper (I forgot his name) is really innovative. I can see how this was influenced by Silent Hill 2. I can see pyramid head walking into the room, only to be killed by the librarian/life-death scholar dude with his knifes. J/K Anyway it is a great setpiece. Awesome work.

Amazing 3D work! I love the fact that you've incorporated a traditional watercolour-ish look into the scene rather than rendering it with that generic plasticy texture so obvious in most 3D objects. It would take me 7 days to create something detailed in 2D! XD;

^__^ Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for. I can't stand shiny 3D ><
